ABOUT rise

RISE Mental Health Collective was founded upon the principle that everyone deserves to live a life they've dreamed of, regardless of their mental health diagnosis.

We are Adelaide locals and want to provide an awesome service to our local community, and really shine a spotlight on the topic of mental health and wellness. We understood that there was a gap in the market for local, experienced Psychosocial Recovery Coaches. We understand that not everyone is able to access this service, so we've also chosen to include Mentoring as an option, so clients are able to access someone to walk their recovery journey with them, regardless of NDIS funding or diagnosis.

We pride ourselves on working really closely with our clients to find their passions, create realistic, actionable goals and work towards completing them.

We also work to ensure that our clients build an amazing, supportive care team around them and integrate their therapies and positive coping strategies into their lives to change them for the better. It's one thing to be told "You need to be doing X, Y and Z to help yourself", but it's an entirely different thing to actually put that into practice within your life where you'll actually want to do it, rather than throwing it in the 'too hard basket'. That's what we're here to do - help you to build your life and implement things into it that you want to do!

We're in it for the long run, as long as you feel you need us. We're here to support you through your Mental Health journey, and we're SUPER passionate about doing so. That's why we're known as a Mental Health Collective - we collaborate with you and bring you into our fold!

This is YOUR journey, but we're here to support you along the way to live your best life and genuinely enjoy each step along the way.

  • Graeson

    FOUNDER, RECOVERY COACH AND MENTOR

Graeson is a Founder of RISE and works closely with clients as a Recovery Coach and Mentor.

For those of you who have been to any networking or NDIS events in Adelaide's North, you've probably seen her around, (usually near the snacks) talking about her passion for mental health and Recovery Coaching.

Graeson has a background in finance and community and disability employment services, before becoming a Recovery Coach in 2022.

She successfully helped launch another Recovery Coaching business in SA before leaving to pursue creating and growing RISE Mental Health Collective.

Graeson prides herself on being a strong advocate for mental health, particularly championing advocacy around Autism, ADHD and Borderline Personality Disorder, which she has lived with (and yes, sometimes really struggled with) for many years.

Being a 'Lived Experience' Coach, Graeson understands what it's actually like to struggle with Mental Illness on a daily basis and emphasises that part of her recovery journey is assisting clients to find their passions and work towards making their dreams a reality. She is also backing this up with 'learned' experience and is currently undertaking her Diploma in Mental Health.

Graeson also loves public speaking and will always jump at an opportunity to present or share information about mental health, neurodiversity, disability and/or advocacy. She is passionate about creating change within communities and workplaces, working to enforce wellbeing and accommodations for a more accessible environment.

A farm kid at heart still, you can find Graeson renovating her old church in her down-time, as well as playing with her small zoo in suburbia that she's built (think chickens, ducks, dogs, cats - you name it, she probably has at least one!), gardening and cross stitching horror movie icons.

You can usually also find Graeson pretty easily in a crowd, as she also has a passion for finding and wearing the most outrageously bright hair dye and clothing possible - the brighter the better!!! (P.S Hot pink sequins are always in!)

  • HUY

    RESIDENT TECH AND FINANCE GURU

Huy is our resident tech and finance guru (and ideas man!)

Huy spends his days as a Bank Manager (so you know that he knows his numbers!) and his nights as his alter-ego, Huy's World, where he develops amazing content on his several platforms. He is an amazing, engaging speaker and training and development extraordinaire!

He's the ideas guy and always thinking outside the square and coming up with new, innovative ways to promote RISE's ideas, ethos and business.

While Huy isn't a Recovery Coach or Mentor, he is always helping behind the scenes to make sure that RISE Mental Health Collective stands out from the crowd.

Together, Huy and Graeson have two businesses, RISE Mental Health Collective and The Chapel in Hamley, a boutique accommodation and events business.

Huy also spends a lot of his free time reining Graeson in with her wacky (but also definitely cool) ideas and stopping her from getting more animals (rude - it's totally not Graeson writing these bios...)

  • CHEVY AND TINA

    HEADS OF EMPLOYEE WELLBEING

Chevy and Tina are Joint Heads of Employee Wellbeing.

Both are ex-athletes and are extremely skilled at promoting great sleep hygeine, exercise (though they prefer HIIT over long training sessions) and will occasionally lick you, but we're onto HR about that one.

They're masters of the puppy dog eyes and are always interested in what's going on at RISE, but moreso, just checking in to make sure that you're not holding any treats.

You'll usually find them sleeping on the job, demanding belly rubs or letting out the worst silent fart known to mankind (thanks for your contribution Chevy)

RISE’S PILLARS OF PRACTICE

  • LIVED EXPERIENCE

We know Mental Health, because we’ve lived it. While we know that learned experience is SO important, it’s not everything. We draw on our lived experience to understand and work with mental health in the long-term.

  • NO BULLSH*T

Look, we’re not here to preach (ew), we aren’t here to tell you how to live your life, and we’re certainly not here to pretend that mental illness is something that goes away with a magic wave of the wand. We are honest, committed towards improvement and here for the long run.

  • GENUINE CARE

Whether you’re working with a Coach, a Mentor or working in one of our group programs, RISE is genuinely here for you. We actually give a sh*t, and as long as you need us, we’re going to be here to walk the journey with you.
